With your purchase of $25 or more we will be offering a “Blind Date with a Book” of your choice. These books are advanced reader copies (ARCs) or slightly damaged books of all varieties. We’ve written some hints on the wrapping so you can pick within your likes/dislikes and hopefully get something you love!

Poetry Corner – 12pm
On Saturday at 12pm we have our popular Poetry Corner at noon with Elizabeth Wolf.
Elizabeth S. Wolf has published 5 books of poetry, most recently A Collection of Partings (2022) and I Am From: Voices from the Mako House in Ghana (2023). Her chapbook Did You Know? was a 2018 Rattle prize winner. Elizabeth’s poetry appears in multiple journals and anthologies. Rattle Summer 2022 featured her project with Prisoner Express. In 2023 Elizabeth taped readings at the White House, Supreme Court, and US Capitol as part of the Scheherazade Project 1001 Artivists. Her work is included in an archive headed into space with Writers On The Moon.
Can’t make it to the store?
If you can’t make it into the store, you can still support us by buying your books online at Bookshop.org. Even if your TBR pile is tipping over, you can pre-order your favorite author’s next book and get free shipping all weekend.
This is another great company that supports ALL participating indie bookstores, not just the one you choose, and provides an alternative to buying your books from that space billionaire guy.
All Weekend: North of Boston Book Trail
Visit The Purple Couch Bookshop and our 15 sister bookshops on the North of Boston Book Trail to celebrate! Fill your passport with stamps from all the stores in one weekend for a chance to win a $50 gift card to all 16 stores in a grand prize bundle along with many other great prizes. There are several other tiers depending on how many stores you are able to visit.
If you can’t hit all the stores in one weekend, never fear. There is also a Slow and Steady prize drawing for those who it fill their passport over the course of the summer.

Visit from President of Nosy Crow Publishing
We will be opening early on Sunday, 4/28 to welcome President John Mendelson of Nosy Crow. He is cycling to every one of the stores on the trail over the course of the weekend! You can join him on the route as well. Come and celebrate this achievement and check out some of the Nosy Crow’s children’s book giveaways we’ll be offering.
